Why this site exists, and how the questions are built
This site does one exam. It is a free practice bank and a set of study notes for the RBT certification examination administered by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board — 90 questions weighted the way the board weights the real thing, and notes that tell you which content areas carry the points and which ones you can afford to touch last.
This site is written by people who build exam-prep material — question banks, study notes and practice apps. Nobody here is a behavior analyst, and nobody here pretends to be, which is exactly why every clinical, procedural or administrative claim on this site is traced back to a document you can open yourself on bacb.com — the RBT Handbook, the Test Content Outline, the Ethics Code. Where the board leaves something open, this site says so instead of filling the gap with a confident number.
Nobody here has sat in the live exam room with a notepad. The practice items are written to the 43 tasks in the outline, task by task. They are not retired examination questions: BACB does not release examination items, and publishing them would breach the security terms every candidate agrees to.

Who this is written for
You are 18 or over, you have finished or nearly finished a 40-hour training, and somebody — usually an employer — has put a date on your calendar. You may be meeting momentary time sampling and differential reinforcement of other behavior for the first time this month, and English may not be your first language. So you get short sentences, plain definitions and an explicit ranking of what to study first.
The ranking is not an opinion. BACB publishes how many scored items each content area gets, which most certifying bodies do not. Behavior Acquisition is 19 of the 75 scored items, a quarter of the exam. Behavior Assessment is 8, the smallest block there is — so if you are triaging your last week, that is where you spend the least time. The order in the study guide is that arithmetic and nothing else.
Two audiences this site is never written for: parents choosing a therapy provider, and people researching behavior technician work as a job. Both are far bigger than ours, and neither is sitting the exam.

The 90 is this site's. The 13 / 8 / 19 / 14 / 10 / 11 split is BACB's own, from the RBT Test Content Outline (3rd ed.).
Every item is tagged to a single task code — C.4, D.7, F.2 — and to one of three difficulty tiers, so the area grid in the practice test can show you which area you are actually weak in rather than handing you one number at the end. That is the only thing a practice score is good for. It is not a prediction, and anyone who tells you a practice percentage predicts your result is guessing at a number the board keeps to itself.

If the board does not publish a number, this site does not publish it either. An invented number cannot help you pass, and it can cost you a week spent studying for the wrong thing.
Where the facts come from
Four documents do almost all of the work on this site: the RBT Handbook, the RBT Test Content Outline (3rd ed.), the RBT Ethics Code (2.0) and the current 40-hour training requirements. All four are published by the board, all four are free, and all four are revised on the board's schedule rather than this site's.
So this site will occasionally be behind. When a page here and bacb.com disagree, bacb.com is right. A wrong answer key or a stale requirement is the failure mode that actually costs a reader something, so the rule is that a claim is re-checked against the board document rather than against this site, and anything that cannot be confirmed in one is deleted instead of hedged. The contact page sets that out in full, along with the two organizations — the board and the test administrator — that can answer a question about your own file, which this site cannot see. Nothing about you is collected here at all: the privacy policy is the item-by-item version — no accounts, no analytics, no tracking of any kind.
